Japanese MEGA-Era Pokémon Boxes: M2a, M3, M4 & M5

Four sealed Japanese MEGA-era Pokémon boxes just landed at Elburn Card Shop. All carry The Pokémon Company's official 4521329 barcode prefix, Japan-only labeling, and factory shrink wrap. Here's everything you need to know about each one.

Quick comparison: If you're only buying one, M2a MEGA Dream ex is the standout — guaranteed hit in every pack and the deepest chase list. Nihil Zero and Abyss Eye are the most affordable and work great as break boxes.

M2a — MEGA Dream ex (MEGAドリームex)

Cover: Mega Gengar | High-Class Pack

Detail	Info
Format	10 packs × 10 cards
Set size	250 cards
Released	November 28, 2025
Japan MSRP	~¥5,500 (~$38)
Japan market price	~¥12,750–13,900 (~$80–88)

Chase Cards

Mega Gengar ex SAR
Mega Dragonite ex SAR & MUR
N's Zoroark ex SAR

Every single pack is guaranteed to contain a Pokémon ex or Mega ex. This is a high-class set — the hit rate is built in. It's also the one that's appreciated the most, up roughly 1.4–2.3× MSRP on the Japan market. US import pricing runs higher still.

M3 — Nihil Zero (ムニキスゼロ)

Cover: Zygarde

Detail	Info
Format	30 packs × 5 cards
Set size	117 cards
Released	January 23, 2026
Japan MSRP	~¥5,400 (~$37)
Japan market price	~¥8,400 (~$52)

Chase Cards

Mega Zygarde ex — SAR #113 and MUR #117
Rosa's Encouragement — SAR #115

Zygarde's dual Mega ex chase is a clean setup. The SAR and MUR give collectors two targets in the same box. Good break box at this price point.

M4 — Ninja Spinner (ニンジャスピナー)

Cover: Greninja

Detail	Info
Format	30 packs × 5 cards
Japan MSRP	~¥5,400 (~$37)
Japan market price	~¥11,200 (~$69)

The strongest performer of the three standard boxes. Greninja is one of the most popular Pokémon in the franchise — consistent demand from both players and collectors keeps this one moving. The highest Japan market price of the standard sets at roughly ¥11,200.

M5 — Abyss Eye (アビスアイ)

Cover: Darkrai

Detail	Info
Format	30 packs × 6 cards
Japan MSRP	~¥6,000 (~$41)
Japan market price	~¥8,300 (~$51)

Currently the most affordable Japanese MEGA box on the market. Still has a Mega ex at MUR rarity — the hit is there, the price is just lower. First set in the line to step up to ¥200/pack. Great break box option.

Note on the NDX Collect sticker on Abyss Eye: That's just a reseller sticker from the importer — it doesn't affect the box or the cards inside.

Are These Legit?

Yes. All four carry The Pokémon Company's official 4521329 barcode prefix, Japan-only labeling, and factory shrink wrap. These are authentic Japanese Pokémon TCG products.
